I found the following recipe in the Calendar of Dinners recipe cookbook from Crisco in 1913. The recipe is easy to follow so I have added all the pictures of the original recipe for you to follow. Also included is the complete dinner recipe that includes the gingerbread cake recipe. The dinner looks great and I really want to try the nut roast. The dinner includes Cream of Tomato Soup with a Piquante Sauce, sweet potatoes, fried eggplant, lettuce salad, baked Quinces and of course the gingerbread cake and coffee!

I bought the Maple Sugar needed for this recipe online. But I believe you can get maple sugar in some grocery stores. The sauce tastes incredible so I suggest that you get the maple sugar that is asked for in the recipe.

To make the sauce, follow the directions below.

This is a great recipe and there is fantastic stories and facts about this era of time, The Second Industrial Revolution. This was the Edwardian Period in England. Please watch the youtube video to know more.
